Why Is This Person Considered a Computer Pioneer?
The invention he made was a machine that did math. He wanted to remove errors by humans. There were three reasons why he wanted to make a machine to help calculating, first he did not like things out of order, second he was good with logarithmic tables, and last he was inspired by other people. He invented the difference engine in June 14, 1822 but never finished it. He started working on a second difference machine which had fewer parts than the first one. Charles Babbage did not try to fix problems with the second difference machine, and there is a replica in a Scientific Museum.
Anecdotes & Quotations
